Summary
The project involved the creation of an international seminary aimed at 35 employees and youth leaders from five countries of the program, which target was to provide the participants with instruments of intercultural education available in sport. These instruments should stimulate the process of integration amongst both ethnically and culturally diverse groups of young people. The seminary was also be used as a field for exchanging experiences between the NGO organizations in the area of dealing with extremism and hostility acts among the youth attending sport classes and sport events. Another seminary target was the exchange of good practice in the area of creating integration possibilities among ethnically and culturally diverse groups of young people participating in sport classes and amatour sport events.
Project activities was focus on implementing the priority of the Erasmus + project for the year 2017, which is to call for the promotion of diversity, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, common values of freedom and tolerance. The target of the project was to equip 35 youth employees with the methods of intercultural pedagogy, which could be used during classes and sport-recreational events addressed to ethnically and culturally diverse groups of young people. During the realization of the project 35 persons working with youth in five countries of the program was become equipped in competence and methods of supporting the cognitive-integrational processes in the group. They will also be equipped with the mechanism, which were allow them to adjust the processes, so they can be tolerant, and respectful to every everyone.
In the framework of the seminary the cycle of 6 workshops is foreseen, which was bring the intricacies of intercultural pedagogy closer in respect of team building methodology. The topics of the workshops were stand as following:
- Creating relationships in an intercultural group - the methodology of meeting new people (integrational games)
- Group anxiety - how to defend the stereotypes in a group of young athletes
- No violence communication, (how to react in conflict situations)
- Mediations among an intercultural group - solving crisis situations in a group, prevention of formation of radical behaviours
- Intercultural education in sport - methodology of transferring the knowledge about the culture during sport classes
- Linguistic animation in sport - methodology of supporting the communication between the youth.
Furthermore, 5 expert discussion panels are foreseen, they will enable the exchange of good practice. Two study visits are also in the schedule, they will take place in places which work with intercultural youth people.
